Slice CEO and Founder Honored by Goldman Sachs for Entrepreneurship

We’re excited to share that Goldman Sachs is recognizing Slice CEO & Founder, Ilir Sela, as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2021 at its Builders + Innovators Summit.

Our mission at Slice is to keep local thriving and we’ve been doing just that for over 17,000 independent shops across 3,000 cities in all 50 states. We focus on digitally transforming these small businesses by arming them with the same tools that the big pizza companies give their franchisees.

The passion behind our mission comes from our leader, Ilir Sela. Ilir comes from three generations of pizzeria owners and nearly 30 of his extended family members own pizza shops. Before starting Slice, he watched Domino’s roll out an online ordering system that would not only become an industry standard, but a highly profitable mechanism.

Even though local pizzerias make up 75% of the pizza industry overall, he saw firsthand that local pizzerias had nowhere near the volume of a big chain and were getting left behind. Today, under Ilir’s leadership, we’ve generated over $1 billion in pizza sales and continue to scale at a rapid pace.

“Innovation doesn’t happen just anywhere; it thrives where there’s a wide range of thoughts and perspectives. One of our great strengths is our ability to bring together people from different walks of life and to spark conversations today that will lead to breakthroughs tomorrow. The leaders we’ve chosen to highlight at our Builders + Innovators Summit are truly remarkable, and we are pleased to recognize Ilir Sela as one of this year’s most intriguing entrepreneurs.”

David M. Solomon, Chairman & CEO of Goldman Sachs.

Congrats Ilir!
