The uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic has created immense challenges for independent restaurant owners everywhere. As a part of our mission to keep local thriving, Slice has collaborated with Instagram on their new Food Ordering feature.

Through this collaboration, shops can enable Slice customers to start the ordering process via an “Order Food” button on their Instagram profile and food ordering Stickers in Stories. Followers can also re-share those Stories to help increase awareness for hungry new customers in the neighborhood.

For our pizzerias, these new tools will help to drive orders, enhance brand visibility, and improve SEO. For customers, it’s an even easier way to support their favorite shops and share the good word with fellow pizza lovers.

“In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that shop owners are looking for new ways to feed their loyal customers and increase awareness of their businesses in their local communities,” said Ilir Sela, founder and CEO of Slice. “We are excited to add Instagram to our online distribution network as they aim to support small and local businesses during an unprecedented time. Being able to drive business online is now essential to the success of local restaurants and these collaborations allow us to continue improving Slice’s platform to empower more independent pizza shops around the world.”

Slice currently powers over 12,000 local pizzerias in over 3,000 cities in all 50 states. By offering an economy of scale that saves money and drives revenue, Slice adds value for both shops and consumers, delighting pizza people on both sides of the counter.

Instagram joins a growing list of Slice’s key partners, including Google, Nextdoor, TripAdvisor, SinglePlatform, and OneBite by Barstool Sports. Instagram’s Food Ordering feature provides incredible support for small and medium businesses everywhere, and we’re thrilled to further that mission together.
