On March 21st, we teamed up with Slice Out Hunger and Pizza To The Polls to launch Pizza vs. Pandemic. Already, the campaign has raised over $479,000 (!) to feed healthcare workers and support local restaurants all at once.
The pie is growing larger by the minute, and it’s all thanks to the generosity of pizza lovers like you.
Together, we have:
- Raised more than $479,000
- Delivered 20,000+ pies
- Fed ~140,000 care workers
- Supported over 900 care centers nationwide
- Provided orders to over 700 pizzerias
- Empowered countless heroes and small businesses
That’s not just good news, that’s excellent news! Just ask The New York Times, The New York Post, People Magazine, CNBC, BuzzFeed, and everyone else who has helped to spread the word of Pizza vs. Pandemic.
Let’s keep up the good work!
The Pizza vs. Pandemic campaign has reminded us that not all heroes wear capes. Some wear scrubs, some wear aprons, and we’re proud to help put a smile behind every mask.
The response so far has been absolutely incredible, but our local shops and frontliners are counting on even more love, support, and warm slices. Whether you chip in for a couple of pies, or 600 pies like Steelers cornerback Joe Haden, your generosity will go a long way.
Here’s how your contribution to Pizza vs. Pandemic helps to make the world a better place, one slice at a time:
1. You make a donation.
Your tax deductible contribution will be added to thousands of others and used to fund pizza orders where care workers need it the most.
2. We identify care centers in need.
Using news reports and your suggestions, we look for the care workers in the greatest need. We then contact them to coordinate their order, including safety protocols.
3. 🍕 ➡️ 🏥
We find a nearby independent pizzeria, ensure they can accommodate the care center’s needs, and place the order using contributed funds. All fees have been waived for these orders.
4. You tell all your friends.
Feed care workers. Support small biz. Stay safe while you support essential workers everywhere and admire your good work #CantStopPizza:
