Holiday Tips and Tricks For Driving Orders for Your Pizzerias

The holidays are truly a special time of year for pizzeria owners. Between all the hustle and bustle, customers count on you for warm slices and a reprieve from doing the dishes. Meanwhile, you’re getting ready for your own festivities and well-deserved family time. Fortunately, there’s no need to stress. Want to make sure your restaurant is ready for the holidays? Follow along for holiday tips for pizzerias and check this list twice:

Get Prepared For the Holidays

One of the best holiday tips for pizzerias is knowing when to prepare for an influx of orders. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest delivery days of the year. Ditto for the day before Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Beyond those dates, the holiday season brings a bounty of high-ordering days. For example, if your pizzeria is near a mall, you might see a bump in pickup orders on Black Friday.

‘Tis the season for lots of business, so make sure you have enough helpers and ingredients on hand. Ideally, you’d like to avoid over-stocking and staffing too. Not sure where to start? Go to your Owner’s Portal to see how many orders you got — and when — on these dates in the past. Of course, 2020 was anything but typical, but you can rewind to ‘18 and ‘19 to get a full picture of your needs.

Update Your Hours

Closing early for the holiday? Let your customers know as soon as possible by updating the hours in your Owner’s Portal. That way, they can plan accordingly and order their favorite food before it’s too late.

You should also spread the word if your shop is open for holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Start by updating your hours on Slice, but don’t forget to also share the good news on social media.
