Best Gluten-Free Pizza in NYC

Not all gluten-free pizzas are created equally. Even in New York, where pizza is king, some pizzerias just can’t seem to get the right consistency and flavor when working with a wheat-free crust.

When you want a tremendous gluten-free pizza in NYC, these are the go-to spots:

Joe’s Pizza (Midtown, Manhattan)

Joe’s Pizza in Greenwich Village has been a New York institution since 1975. In recent years, they’ve expanded to have five locations in New York City, including a Midtown outpost that features gluten-free pizza.

Joe’s GF cheese pizza doesn’t cost a penny more than its standard pie, which already makes it stand out from others out there. You also have the full range of toppings at your disposal, which means that you can build a fantastic GF pizza that you’re wheat-eating friends will also gobble up.

Stone Bridge Pizza & Salad (Midtown, Manhattan)

Just east of Bryant Park, you’ll find Stone Bridge Pizza & Salad, a pizzeria with tons of excellent options for their gluten-free crust. Our personal fave is the Mushroom Fixation, which features three different types of mushrooms, thyme, rosemary, and a drizzle of truffle oil.

One important thing to note: Stone Bridge’s gluten-free crust is prepared in a common kitchen with the risk of exposure to gluten, so the shop does not recommend the GF crust for customers with celiac disease.

Famous Famiglia Pizzeria (Financial District, Manhattan)

FiDi isn’t known for its food, but Famous Famiglia serves up a quality gluten-free pizza with upwards of 25 toppings from which to choose.

Lean Crust Pizza (Fort Greene, Brooklyn)

At Lean Crust, any pizza on the menu can be modified to have a gluten-free crust.

The Burrata Pizza, 4 Formaggi Pizza (with fontina, fresh mozzarella, Pamigiano, and gorgonzola cheeses), and Al Caprino Pizza (Goat and mozzarella cheese, arugula, red peppers, and eggplant) all go exceptionally well with their GF base.

Bay Ridge Pizza (Bay Ridge, Brooklyn)

If you can dream it, Bay Ridge Pizza can do it. There are 37 gluten-free pizza options on the standard menu, plus the ability to concoct any GF pizza your heart desires.

Stationed in South Brooklyn, Bay Ridge Pizza is a bit off the beaten path, but it’s worth the trek on the R line.
