Introducing contact-free delivery

I’ve seen firsthand how hard employees at restaurants work at the best of times. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an adverse situation where they’re likely going to be working even harder, keeping their customers fed while keeping their employees safe.

The health and safety of our partner restaurants’ employees and customers is paramount to everyone here at Slice. So, due to recent health concerns regarding the coronavirus, we are adding a way to keep both our users and our restaurant partners safe: contact-free delivery.

Customers using Slice can now select contact-free delivery at checkout. Selecting contact-free delivery will let the restaurant know to have its delivery folks leave the food at the customer’s door.

This feature is live across our web experience — i.e. restaurant websites powered by Slice or SliceLife.com — and is being quickly rolled out on the Slice App for Android and iOS. The delivery instructions field is a good fallback option for any app users who are not yet seeing contact-free as an option.

We encourage all customers, including ones who are using the contact-free feature, to add any additional delivery instructions (e.g., “leave the order with the doorman” or “call my cell when you leave the food”).

Restaurants will see if a customer wants contact-free delivery in the delivery instructions like so:

If you’re a restaurant owner and have any questions, please reach out to your Account Manager. If you’re a Slice user, feel free to ask any questions you may have by emailing support@slicelife.com, or reaching out via our social media channels.
